A couple of months ago I decided to open my own business. Why? Because it`s a good feeling.

Through the different jobs I've had, including four internships, I got to know a lot of people. I also worked autonomously, that's the recipe to starting your own business, to have some valuable contacts and thus potential engagements for different, creative and innovative cooperations.

I am not intent on routine as I have found that change and new directions bring me forward and offer new opportunities. As a freelancer, your job is changing constantly. You`re expected to continually adapt, learn and update your skills. With every new client comes a new challenge. You are forced to think- to be creative- and I love it! It`s a great feeling to know that your skills are being put to good use and that those skills are going to continue to grow as your business grows.

Self-employment for me does not mean less work, if anything. But you decide how and where your work is done and that`s awesome! You choose the location- I call it the 'Creative Office`.

This week I decided to visit my lovely friend Maria in Munich. What do we have in common? She has also decided to start her own business with `iOLANi eyewear`, a Munich based, unique and sustainable optical brand. The best thing about this is the two of us working together in our new creative office aka her beautiful apartment.

What`s next? Spending some days in Salzburg- new place, new office.
